Twitter’s New Podcast Tab to Be Launched

It appears that Twitter, the online microblogging and social networking platform, intends to create a tab dedicated to podcasts. As it keeps on developing its audio product known as Spaces, the service may take the endeavor to a brand new level and roll out a separate podcasts tab on its mobile applications. Keep reading for more details on Twitter's attempt to broaden its audio offerings and thus gain the advantage over competitor services.

The team behind Twitter started spreading its functionality to audio when it first released Spaces two years ago and took further steps in this direction when it purchased social podcast platform Breaker. Twitter has been working on Spaces on a continuing basis, which grants its mobile users the possibility of recording conversations.

Recorded Spaces already resemble podcasts, the only difference is the former are only available within a month. But there sure is a clear distinction between a live, recorded conversation and a thoroughly edited podcast. However, chances are Twitter will eventually refine its podcast functionality to perfection.

If Twitter manages to bring its podcasts feature up to par with high-end services like Spotify, you’ll get to pick from and enjoy your favorite podcasts whenever you desire, without having to find time for a real-time Spaces broadcast or hastily explore recordings before they become unavailable.

With all that said, if Twitter manages to get it right, the podcasts feature could indeed become a fantastic addition, particularly now that podcasts are getting so incredibly popular. The team behind the social network hasn’t made any official announcements regarding their upcoming dedicated podcast tab yet. But looks like we’ll hear more on the topic very soon.
