While most added content in The Sims 4 is still paid, from major DLC to single items, some come for free as a pleasant surprise. As it was revealed during a stream on Twitch, among other additions, The Sims 4 is to get a number of East Asian foods. This is a great surprise for those who love this game for its ability to live your dream there.

There are four dishes so far. The first one is sticky rice cake, popular in entire East Asia. The next comes steamed fish popular in China. Tteokguk is a traditional Korean rice cake soup that is necessary for a New Year's celebration. Finally, galbi-jjim (Korean braised short ribs) is one of the most tender and sweetmeat dishes ever.

This addition is linked to the Lunar New Year, also known as Chinese New Year. Not only do these additions promote their real-world prototypes but enrich the game for those who already love it. The in-game cuisine is probably the hardest part to rate if you haven’t tasted it in real life. Celebrating Lunar New Year by introducing Asian dishes is a tradition for The Sins 4. For example, in 2019 the celebration brought in vegetable dumplings and mud carp, along with various decorations.

The tastiest part of the additions was presented at the very end of the stream. Along with this, the streamers discussed new features like customizable pronouns, braided ponytail hairstyle, and various items that can be used for styling your Sims. Probably the pronouns were the hottest theme of the stream, but the dishes also got their share of attention.

Though this addition seems minor, it gives the player nonstop celebration vibes. And what do you think about these tasty updates? Will you install them for free? And how about tasting or returning to them in real life? Have you ever been inspired to do something real after your Sims characters? Let’s gather at the table in the comments and tell stories!
