The gaming world is abuzz with rumors about the much-awaited launch of Grand Theft Auto VI. Recent reports suggest that significant adjustments might be necessary for Take-Two and Rockstar's financial expectations for the upcoming fiscal year if the information circulating turns out to be true. An X user known as billsyliamgta, who has a reputable history of sharing insights on Rockstar and GTA updates, claims that the launch of the console version of GTA VI has been postponed to mid-2026, meaning it will no longer debut in the following year. This news reportedly stems from multiple developers at two separate studios within the organization.

Furthermore, Liam indicates that the PC edition will follow approximately 12 to 18 months later. Consequently, PC gamers could find themselves waiting until mid-2027 or beyond to experience GTA VI, possibly even pushing into early 2028. While this information remains unverified, should it be accurate? This could greatly impact the release schedule for the upcoming year and might also influence the current generation consoles' ongoing lifecycle, which have been eagerly awaiting the next installment of this legendary franchise.

UPDATE: In reaction to these claims, Jason Schreier from Bloomberg has offered his perspective on the situation. According to a post shared on X/Twitter, Schreier mentioned that none of the six Rockstar staff members he reached out to were aware of any delay. Nonetheless, given the magnitude of the Grand Theft Auto VI project, it remains a possibility that its release date may eventually shift from the anticipated 2025 timeframe.
