New Features Added to Google Maps Before the Holidays

The latest Google Maps features are bound to please you and ensure that your holiday experience is hassle-free.  If you haven't been using Google Maps to help you with your holiday shopping, now is definitely a time to start. Especially if you’re planning to visit a bunch of malls. Below, we’ll tell you all about the new features that will help you enjoy a stress-free holiday. 

New: Expanded Directory Tab

Modern malls are enormous, so finding a particular store can be a daunting task. Due to this, Google Maps stated in November that it is expanding its directory tab to include all transport stations, malls, and airports. So whether you need to find a place to grab a quick bite, or buy a souvenir for your friend, you’ll be able to easily do so with this new feature.

The tab will provide you with information about the working hours and even tell you on which floor the business is located. 

New: Area Busyness

In the past, if you wanted to check how busy local businesses were at a certain hour, you had to google each one to get this information. This used to be very frustrating and had to be addressed.

Thankfully, a new feature is now available in Google Maps and it’s called "Area Busyness". This feature allows you to see how crowded the businesses are by simply glancing at the map.

To use this new feature, all you have to do is launch Google Maps, and use the map to find the location you’re interested in while using the new function. The busyness information will now be readily available on the map itself, eliminating the need to look through the information about each business.
