Delay of Lord Of The Rings: Gollum Unfortunate News for Tolkien Fans
25-01-2023
J.R.R. Tolkien fans and gamers who are also fans of the author's works were hoping to get their hands on the game The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, but they will have to wait a little longer as it has been delayed yet again. Developed by Daedalic, the game was originally scheduled for release in 2021 but has since been postponed several times, and the September 2022 launch has been pushed back even further. According to Nacon's latest earnings report, no exact date has been given other than somewhere in the first half of the fiscal year 2023-2024.
As for what players can expect from The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum. It's an adventure game in which you have to control Smeagol, aka Gollum. He is one of the most iconic characters of Middle-earth. He embarks on his own journey out of Mordor before Sauron takes over completely and before meeting Frodo Baggins, whom he will follow throughout Middle-earth on his quest.
At the time of writing, however, there has been no official announcement of a demo or beta release. For now, all we have to do is be patient and hope for early news on when exactly The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum will finally be released in the coming years!
The news is likely a huge disappointment for Tolkien fans everywhere who had looked forward to exploring Middle Earth from an entirely different viewpoint than what was seen in Peter Jackson's film adaptations or other video games based on The Lord of the Rings series, such as Shadow of Mordor or War in The North. But at least there is still hope that we'll eventually get our hands on this highly anticipated title soon enough!
Although it may seem like bad news for those eager to try out The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum, there is some comfort in knowing developers are taking their time with this project to make sure everything runs smoothly once released. Hopefully, more updates will come soon so players can start getting excited about finally experiencing Middle Earth from a brand new perspective!
