Concord's Lackluster Launch: A Disheartening Start for Sony's New Title

The gaming community is buzzing with mixed reactions regarding Concord, a new title from Sony. As expectations were high, the initial response has been less than enthusiastic, leading to concerns about its potential success in a competitive market.

Despite some players having access to the Digital Deluxe Edition for a few days prior to the official release on August 24, the game is struggling to make an impact. Observers on platforms like Neogaf have pointed out that during its launch day, Concord failed to reach even 1000 concurrent players on Steam. According to SteamDB, the peak concurrent player count was merely 697, which raises eyebrows about its attractiveness to the audience.

This number, dishearteningly, is lower than the player count for Redfall during its launch, a game that faced severe criticism and is often cited as one of the biggest disappointments of 2023.

However, it’s worth noting that Concord has only just been released, and the gaming landscape is known for its unpredictability. There have been instances where titles began with a rocky start and evolved into significant successes. Regardless of where Concord's journey will lead, it is clear that its launch has not been as promising as many had hoped.
