An exciting new development in the entertainment industry is unfolding as a prominent creative figure in gaming embarks on a fresh journey with a groundbreaking studio.

Jason Jones, a central force behind several renowned video game franchises and a founding partner of a legendary studio, has set up a new creative hub known as Stone Kite. This innovative venture is set to craft projects that span across diverse entertainment mediums.

The studio's first venture is One Zero One, a limited-series comic derived from a manuscript developed by Jones himself. A selection of representative pages is available on the studio's website, offering an early glimpse into the work.

Based in Los Angeles, Stone Kite is the result of a close partnership with Margaret Stohl, a veteran of the industry whose career boasts an impressive portfolio of 14 novels, numerous game narratives, and contributions to major comic series. As the studio’s CEO, Stohl envisions a collaborative process that draws on global creative talents from various artistic disciplines. Her approach challenges conventional methods by uniting specialists from various disciplines to collectively shape a new entertainment universe, encouraging community engagement and long-term exploration in multiple forms.

Jones reflected on his lifelong passion for both gaming and writing by sharing memories of cycling long distances along the lake to visit local bookstores in search of science fiction inspiration. He credits a trusted collaborator with inspiring him to pursue his own writing projects, an effort aimed at crafting engaging entertainment that leaves a lasting impact.

The narrative of One Zero One unfolds in four parts, chronicling an escalating conflict between humanity and an autonomous force of AI-operated machines. The initial segment is now digitized and hosted on the Stone Kite website, where enthusiastic followers can also preorder a printed edition.

Having co-founded a major gaming studio in 1991 and served in high-level creative roles until recent organizational changes, Jones is widely respected as an inventive mind in game design. Historically reserved in the spotlight, he has only spoken publicly on rare occasions, with a notable interview emerging in 2013 after a long hiatus from media engagements. In parallel, his former studio continues to adapt and progress despite recent shifts in its operational support for certain projects.

An industry commentator, known for his insights on gaming trends and hosting popular weekly discussions on competitive gaming platforms, continues to contribute to the vibrant discourse surrounding evolving creative practices and regional cultural nuances.
